This Men’s Health Week, Alfred Health Carer Services, with the Carer Gateway, is running an online webinar to share information about the mental and physical health and wellbeing of male carers.
This online discussion panel will feature the following guest speakers:
Dr. Jian Min Hor: A General Practitioner who will talk about male health concerns, and important questions that you should ask your GP.
Stephen Rogers: A counsellor and psychotherapist with a special interest in carers, as he is a carer for his mother diagnosed with Alzheimers. He has provided counselling support through Carer Gateway for over 8 years.
Dr. George Halasz: One of our male carers who provides care and support to his elderly mother, and is by profession a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University.
Michael White: One of our team members who is a Carer Assessment and Planning worker, and has worked in the carer services for 13 years.
The panel members will discuss:
The challenges that male carers face in their caring role
How caring affects their mental and physical wellbeing
What services and practical supports are available
Navigating complex support systems
There will be an opportunity for male carers to submit your questions to the panelists.
