Services & Supports
-
EMERGENCY & PLANNED RESPITE
‘Respite’ is when someone else takes care of the person who you care for. This allows carers to take a break.
Respite is short-term and planned, and emergency respite care is available in times of crisis at short notice.
-
CARER SUPPORT PLANNING
Carer Support Planning helps you access supports through exploring your caring situation. This happens during a conversation with a support worker and takes approximately an hour.
-
COUNSELLING
Professional counsellors can talk to carers about concerns, feelings, or stress. Counsellors can discuss how you can improve your wellbeing and manage your caring role.
Counselling can be completed over the phone or face-to-face.
-
FACILITATED COACHING
Facilitated Coaching can help carers think about their own life and caring role. Coaches can support carers to set goals and make plans to improve their health and wellbeing. All sessions are one-on-one with a trained coach in person, via telehealth or over the phone.
-
CONNECTING WITH OTHER CARERS
There is a community of carers in your local area that you can connect with through peer support groups, events, workshops, and even online forums.
-
INFORMATION, ADVICE & REFERRALS
Navigating supports and services can be overwhelming on top of your caring role and other commitments. We provide free information, advice and referrals.
-
COMMONWEALTH HOME SUPPORT PROGRAM
Our Commonwealth Home Support Program aims to support carers and care relationships. We offer a range of respite services that provide supported activities for older people with care needs, and supports and resources for carers.
