There are more than 71,600 young carers in Victoria, but many are hidden in the community since young carers often don’t see themselves as carers!
That’s where parents, guardians, school teachers, service providers and healthcare professionals like you can help by identifying young carers in the community and connecting them to Carer Gateway.
Whether a young carer is in primary or secondary school or university (25 years or younger), there are many ways that we can help support them. Depending on their needs, we can help connect young carers to free supports and services, free events, school holiday programs where they can meet other young carers who are going through a similar situation, and much more.
